Teepees Are The New Hamptons Design Trend: Shop KDHamptons Five Faves!
Have you noticed the new teepee trend happening in the Hamptons? At a few fabulous events last summer, KDHamptons was charmed by the incorporation of teepees [also tipi, or tepee] as part of the decor. Love Shack Fancy designer Rebecca Hessel Cohen added an eclectic twist to her teepee by adding a lace overly and Moroccan carpet at a party she threw for Julia Restoin Reitfeld at her stunning Sagaponack home [above]. Traditionally made of animal skins upon wooden poles by American Indians, teepees are now offered in a variety of styles and fabrics for kids and adults. Montauk design legend Ralph Lauren may have started the teepee trend at his iconic Double RL ranch in Colorado, but haute Hamptonites are popping up teepees by the pool, as playhouses for the kids, or for a romantic beach BBQ. Here’s a few of our faves:
The Land of Nod Lace Teepee with Garlands, $159.97: Everything looks better in lace. That’s why we adorned this teepee with lace. This five-sided teepee includes colored poms and yarn decoration at the top, making it as elegant as it is playful. [image via Land of Nod]
