KDHamptons Garden: Ten Different Design Styles For Pretty Spring Pots

SHARE

Looking for a fun outside project to enjoy this weekend in the Hamptons? It’s time to plant your pretty flower pots. Most of the local garden centers are now packed with daisies, pansies, hyacinth, ranunculus, tulips, and more.  KDHamptons favorite resources for spring flowers are Lynch’s Garden Center in Southampton, and Halsey Farm in Water Mill.  They all have slightly different varieties so it’s fun to source from all three.  Get inspired by some of my favorite flower pots below and get your green thumb in gear!

Most Hamptonites know that my husband Mark is a great doctor, but few people know he is a fantastic gardener.  I get to enjoy the flowers he plants around our Water Mill home.  Each season, Mark can’t wait to plant the spring flower pots around the porch at our Victorian farmhouse, Maple Shade.  He typically opts for a colorful mix of flower varieties, including:  Easter Bonnet Pastel Pansies, Lavender Frost Serenity, Panol Blotch Mix Pansies, and Ranunculus.  My potting style is quite different than his [see pix further below] so its fun to compare both results.

My potting style is a bit more monochromatic and “English Garden”. I tend to keep colors and flower varieties organized together, below:
