The 6th Annual Lighting of The Lighthouse will be held on Saturday, November 25th at 4pm. Enjoy a spectacular view of the lighthouse as it gets dark and the Christmas Lights are lit. There will be live music, caroling, and Santa will make an appearance. Take the Plunge, or Pledge a Plunger at the 4th Annual Shelter Island Turkey Plunge at Crescent Beach! Get ready to shiver on Nov. 25, with a frigid dip in the waters off Shelter Island. It’s all for a good cause, of course. Sponsored by the Friends of the Shelter Island Public Library, the annual Shelter Island Turkey Plunge benefits the library. Participants can either register online or at the library (37 N. Ferry Road). Organizers ask that you raise a minimum of $25 for a plunge.
