Want To Be The BIG CHEESE At Your Next Cocktail Party? Head To Lucy's Whey In East Hampton For What You'll Need!
Owner, Lucy Kazickas, opened the first Lucy’s Whey outpost on North Main Street in East Hampton in 2008, and a second location in Manhattan’s Chelsea Market a year later. She revealed her cheesy confession to Hamptons Magazine: “When I started, I’d never even sliced cheese before!” Yet, her passion for cheese and good food has given way to a covetable little business. Kazickas admits that visiting cheesemakers is what she loves the most, all in effort to support the local farms and to further educate people about artisanal foods. Each cheese is unique and presents distinctive flavors that reflect the farm, region and ingenuity of the cheesemaker.
Lucy’s Whey offers a large, carefully chosen selection of artisan and farmstead cheeses, all made in the good ‘ole U.S. of A. And just in time for the holiday season, in addition to their fabulous fromage, the store carries a variety of items to complement any cheese platter: from jams & marmalades to mustard, honey, crackers, and an array of dried fruits. Show up at a Hamptons dinner party with one of Lucy’s customized cheese platters and you will be sure to be invited back!
KDH is looking forward to attending some of the tastings in the store, including the cheese & chocolate pairing [huh? well why not!]. Check out Lucy’s website for more info.
Psst…KDH readers! There are NEW FALL HOURS at Lucy’s Whey East Hampton: Friday & Saturdays 10am-6pm and Sundays 11am-4pm.
