Evelyn Lauder, creator of the pink ribbon for breast cancer awareness, died of ovarian cancer on Saturday. She was 75.

Daughter-in-law of cosmetics magnate Estee Lauder and wife of Leonard, Evelyn established the Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Cancer Center at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NYC, which opened in 2009.

Lauder worked at Estee Lauder for more than 50 years and conceived the name of its famous Clinique brand in the 60s.

She was an inspiration to family and friends alike, as well as a champion of breast cancer awareness.
