Alexandre Daniel, owner of Sun Barth, knows how to work a room. Stop by his chic beach boutique on Jobs Lane in Southampton and you feel immediately transported into his luxe island vibe of Saint Barth, where he opened his first store in 2009. With a leggy blonde DJ spinning, and myriad Euro mannequins and moguls mingling & chatting about last night…tonight….Nobu….and, oh yeah~ they’re shopping too!

Not a newcomer to the retail scene, Alexandre was formerly the wholesale manager for Vilebrequin- which, at the time, was the reigning swimwear brand for haute Hamptons men.  He also brought the kitsch line Sundek back in the US, and relaunched it as a high end line.

“I always wanted to have guys look at their best on the beach, that’s why this concept came to my mind,” shares Alexandre.

Sun Barth Southampton opened last summer and immediately began luring the hot Hamptons crowd into the store with a rainbow of brightly colored  “bums in bathing suits” hanging in the front window!
