Finally, a book club where you want to read the ENTIRE book!  CMEE’s Second Annual Summer Book Club invites four fantastic female authors to join you!

CMEE announces its second annual Summer Book Club organized by Charlotte Kaiser Weinberg, Abby Levy, Zibby Right, and Amy Tarr. Hosted in the homes of CMEE Members, this year’s schedule features the authors talking about their books:

* Sometimes I Feel Like a Nut, with Jill Kargman (July 17th, in East Hampton)

Native New Yorker, Jill Kargman (www.jillkargman.com), author of The Right Address, Momzillas, The Ex-Mrs. Hedge Fund and the just-released, Rock Star in Seat 3A, will regale the group with her personal essays from Sometimes I Feel Like a Nut. Some of her “essays and observations” include an ode to her first New York apartment and a tale about her new hobby: shooting. Her witty language and inside scoops of all things New York make her books simply irresistible.

* I Never Promised You A Goodie Bag, with Jen Gilbert (July 31st, in Bridgehampton)

Event planner extraordinaire, Jennifer Gilbert (www.savethedate.com), will discuss her new book, I Never Promised You a Goodie Bag: A Memoir of Life Through Events. Gilbert, fresh out of college, was randomly attacked in the city. Her tale of overcoming that devastation and fear is compelling and inspiring.

* Ali in Wonderland, with Ali Wentworth (August 20th, in Amagansett)

Actress and comedienne, Ali Wentworth will present stories from her memoir, Ali in Wonderland. The book’s essays about past babysitters and misguided attempts at executing social graces (including setting off a security scare at Donald Rumsfeld’s home in DC) are hilarious, endearing, clever, and honest.

* The Newlyweds, with Nell Freudenberger (August 28th, in East Hampton)

Pen/Malamud Award Winner, Nell Freudenberger presents her newest novel, The Newlyweds, the story of an online bride who moves from Bangladesh to Rochester, New York. It’s a wise and witty tale of cross-cultural tensions and romance.
