Over the past year, KDHamptons has helped aid in the adoption of many dutiful dogs and compassionate cats at the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation (SASF). We love receiving fabulous emails from the shelter informing us that KDHamptons readers have been coming to the rescue of these adorable animals in need of a Hamptons home! Thank you!!

KDH swung by the shelter to meet some of the new cats & dogs who have arrived just in time for a new home in the NEW YEAR!! Below are a few of the furry friends I met. I hope you might consider adopting a pet in 2013~ what better resolution is there than to save a life? [pssst! If the timing isn’t right for you to adopt now, you can make a donation to underwrite one of the shelter pet’s cages as well].

Meet cuddly Carmen! She is a 2-year old blue Pitbull who loves to play! Carmen likes toys, other dogs, and loves people! She likes to play fetch, go for a walk or a jog with you, or even just take a nap by a winter fire with you.  Carmen is beautiful inside and out and she is looking for an active home to have fun with! Everyone could use a little Charmin’ Carmen in their lives!

Some cats don’t get any sweeter than a “flower” like Petunia! This 5-year old loves to talk, cuddle and flirt! Who can resist a curvy blonde with gorgeous green eyes?!

Zoe is reaching out to YOU in the hopes of finding a new home! She is a 10-year old tuxedo beauty who would love a lap or a couch to curl up on. Zoe has been here just over a year now and is waiting patiently for her turn to find a home. She would love to start packing her bags because all cats that have been at the shelter for over a year are free, and come with 6 months of food and medical care! This promotion runs until the end of January.

Alli a shy 3 year old rescue from Georgia who recently had puppies. She was a good Mom and now she needs the nurturing in a quiet home to help bring out all the best qualities in her! Alli likes other dogs and cats are okay, too. You’ll see her “Southern Charm” grow warmer with each day!
