Well Labor Day weekend has come to a rainy end, and I can’t wait to see all of the KDHamptons Summer Diaries that will start to flood in! Families, friends, and readers will be sharing their their favorite moments & photos from another sensational summer on the East End. First up? KDHamptons intrepid intern, Hannah Berner, who spent the summer chronicling her adventures covering glamorous events, parties, restaurant openings, and outdoor adventures for KDH readers to enjoy, shares her summer album below:

 

 

 

 

Summer is my favorite time of year, and what better place to spend it than the Hamptons? I’m a Brooklyn Native who has a place in Shelter Island where I have gone every summer since I was born. This summer was especially unique because I began working for KDHamptons and had the opportunity to truly discover everything the Hamptons had to offer…

 

 

 

 

I’m a big foodie so I love trying out different restaurants in the Hamptons. My summer favorites included: Race Lane, Fresh, Vine Street, and Suki Zuki. I have a weakness for succulent scallops in the summer, and the ones above were from SALT restaurant on Shelter Island.

 

 

 

 

My boyfriend John and I attended many fun charity events supporting great causes, but the “Get Wild” Charity event [above] was the only one where I pet an opossum!

 

 

 

 

In June, I was invited to go on a spa charter, where you relax on a luxury catamaran while getting massages and facials….it doesn’t get any better than that! I met a lot of awesome journalists there, including Navy Beach owner [and KDHamptons Montauk Correspondent] Leyla Marchetto, Jessica Loggia of Pulse Magazine, and Nicole Brewer of Hamptons.com

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Hamptons has the freshest seafood in the summer, but sometimes the landlubber in me craves a classic cheeseburger! Hands down the best cheeseburger was from Race Lane in East Hampton because it has a perfectly toasted buttery bun, spiced bacon, and they don’t skimp on the fries.

 

 

 

 

KDHamptons threw a super chic champagne and shopping party at the Theodora & Callum boutique in East Hampton. I attended with my gorgeous grandma [above] and we adored their scarves, dresses, and vintage jewelry.

 

 

 

 

My family adopted a kitten from ARF named Misty! She loved hanging out with me while I wrote articles for KDHamptons…

 

 

 

 

 

My boyfriend and I were addicted to golf this summer and tried to play as many courses as possible the East End! After a great round of golf, we treated ourselves to an amazing lobster dinner at Buoy One in Riverhead.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here I am at the Hamptons Holiday House, above, which featured the best interior designers in New York! I explored every beautiful room and definitely got some quality decorating ideas.

 

 

My boyfriend, John Ludlow, and his friend Ken Morsch perform jazz all over the Hamptons. I went to Wolffer Estate Vineyards [below] to watch them play the weekly Twilight Thursdays series with some cheese and a nice wine.

 

 

 

 

 

To stay in shape, I like jogging to Wades Beach on Shelter Island. The beach is so calming and beautiful. At the end of the summer, the family goes clamming and then we have a party with fresh baked clams!

 

 

 

 

 

 

I visited Mecox Bay Dairy, where I found my inner cowgirl. Their farm produces artisan cheese and they taught me how to milk a cow!

 

 

 

 

John and I love to go out to Sag Harbor. The dock is so beautiful and we always get ice cream from Big Olaf after!

 

 

 

 

Spending time with my family always makes the greatest summer memories. But unfortunately summer has to come to an end. Leaving Shelter Island is always sad, but needless to say the view is always beautiful…
