BANDIER, the first luxury multi-brand fashion & fitness focused boutique has opened on Main Street Southampton. Owner and longtime Hamptonite Jennifer Bandier curates a meticulous collection of the most fashion forward luxury fitness designers in the world, including: Nike, Adidas by Stella McCartney, Norma Kamali, Under Armour, Lucas Hugh, Michi, Live The Process, and Beyond Yoga [My favorite fitness brand!]. KDHamptons: Why did you decide to open in Southampton?

Jennifer Bandier: I decided to open in Southampton because Southampton and the rest of the Hamptons are such a fitness oriented community. Working out is a part of everyone’s life here and I thought it would be a starting point for Bandier.

KDHamptons:  How long have you been living on the East End? What do you love most about the Hamptons?

Jennifer: I love the beach, the history and the sense of community I feel here. I have been coming to the Hamptons every summer since I was young. It’s very much home for me.

KDHamptons: Bandier has such a unique mix of serious performance wear and everyday comfortable pieces for the sporty chic set of the Hamptons. How do you curate this mix so well?

Jennifer: Through wear and testing on my own. Surrounding myself with a great group of people with tremendous industry knowledge. Word of mouth from friends that utilized some of these brands both in their workouts and daily life.

KDHamptons: What are the three hottest pieces in the store right now?

Jennifer: It’s hard to pick just three but some of the most loved pieces are –
The Splattered Paint Pant (“The Pollack”) from Splits59. All of MICHI. Any of the printed leggings from Onzie, Candida Maria or The Upside

Signature BANDIER elements include a Bra Bar (featuring Anita and Moving Comfort undergarments) and a mirrored Affirmation Wall with inspirational quotes — some penned by BANDIER shoppers. Jennifer shares, “The inspiration for BANDIER took shape after I broke my foot and was put in a cast up to my knee. I was forced to wear fitness clothing 24 hours a day, and quickly realized that the fitness I owned was unfashionable and uninspiring.” And so the seed was planted to curate her own fitness wardrobe out of incredible brands from around the globe.

The gorgeous new 1,150 sq. ft. retail space on Southampton’s Main Street—designed by RPG—is slick and modern, yet also luxurious and approachable, mimicking the clothing itself. Industrial style meets inviting, sumptuous materials in elements from the poured
concrete flooring and industrial steel wall fixtures to smoky beveled mirror tabletops,
black and white lacquered mannequins and plush custom furnishings in soft tones and
sumptuous fabrics.

Guided by BANDIER’s motto, “Strong is the New Sexy,” the Design & Build team at RPG translated fashion, fitness and music aesthetically, taking into account the specific luxurious environment desired but also the brand identity. Be sure not to miss these upcoming trunk shows at BANDIER:
