Hampton Ballet School Performs 'Peter and the Wolf' August 5th
The Hampton Ballet Theatre School, celebrating seven years of dance on the East End, in collaboration with the Hampton Festival Orchestra and a “celebrity” narrator will perform the enchanting ballet Peter and the Wolf on Tuesday, August 5th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Children’s Museum of the East End, 376 Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor Turnpike and at the Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation located at 240 Edgemere Street in Montauk on Thursday, August 7th at 7:00 p.m.
The ballet, choreographed by the director of HBTS, Sara Jo Strickland, with beautiful, handcrafted costumes by Yuka Silvera, will virtually come alive for the children of the East End community with the live orchestra, ballet and narration. The ballet will be danced by the students of the Hampton Ballet Theatre School, who range from 4 to 18 years old. The 25-piece Hampton Festival Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Andrew Perea, is a group of talented professional musicians who all hail from the East End. This ballet is a treat for all ages, as Sergei Prokovfiev’s famous score introduces all the ballet characters as sounds from musical instruments. You won’t want to miss this exciting, educational performance!
