KDHamptons Party Diary: 'The Den' Opens At The New WestHouse Hotel
KDHamptons recently popped into the city for an overnight “staycation” at the new WestHouse New York, a stunning boutique hotel ideally positioned in the heart of New York City’s Midtown area. The WestHouse location offers effortless access to New York City’s top attractions, including: Central Park, Lincoln Center, MoMA, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Designed by Jeffrey Beers International, WestHouse New York is an entirely new hospitality concept that blends the elegant residential comforts of a New York City townhouse with the luxurious ambiance of a refined hotel environment, creating a one-of-a-kind “house away from home” experience.
By creating exclusive partnerships DayNa Decker, Sferra Linens, 12.29, and ghd, hotel guests will enjoy a curated, unprecedented portfolio of amenities and services to satisfy their every need. With a modest “residents fee”, guests are privy to luxuries and comforts including refined culinary offerings, expertly curated wine and cocktail selections, in-room lifestyle amenities, and much more.
My New York essentials: Chanel, Cavalli fur, and Champagne
In designing WestHouse, Jeffrey Beers International (JBI) drew inspiration from the hotel’s rich historical heritage. The color palette used in the lobby, reception area and The Den is a sophisticated blend of heather grey, cobalt blue, navy blue, amber, and bronze. The interiors also blend a rich selection of dark woods, textured marbles and bold graphics, creating an ambiance that is refined and contemporary.
WestHouse features 172 impeccably designed guest rooms, including 16 extraordinary suites, designed to cater to upscale business and leisure travelers. Each guest room offers between 255 square feet to 325 square feet of relaxing glamour; one bedroom suites are spaciously configured at 575 square feet and each of The Terrace Suites offers a 750 square foot sanctuary. The 1500 square foot Presidential Suite offers dual views of Central Park and Times Square. All of WestHouse’s Terrace Suites are outfitted by Sleep│Studio’s bedding system, which offers the latest technology, allowing the mattress to adjust to different zones of the body and provide maximum support and comfort to ensure a deep, restorative sleep.
After getting settled in our beautiful suite, a fabulous GLAMSQUAD team came to the room for a quick hair & makeup appointment. GLAMSQUAD brings talented professionals in the beauty industry to you, offering the full salon experience wherever you are. It saves so much time to get ready instead rushing to and from the salon, and you can walk out the door camera ready. Hair and Makeup services are done in tandem and take only an hour. * Book your Glamsquad appointment via their mobile app, or on Glamsquad.com
Situated discreetly adjacent to the front entrance of WestHouse is The Den, which offers signature cocktails, Barista crafted coffees, and international culinary offerings throughout the day. Located on the 23rd floor, The Terrace is a spacious lounge area with separate dining areas features indoor seating as well as an alfresco terrace, affording natural light through floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Guests will savor an array of delectable breakfast presentations as well as afternoon teas, hors d’oeuvres and evening canapés.
Performing at The Den was internationally acclaimed chanteuse Sasha Lazard, who is known for her richly expressive soprano, and her visionary artistry. Lazard rarely performs in public of late, so it was a real treat to take in her mesmerizing mystique, and hypnotic voice.
