“I find design inspiration at the beach,” shares English Country Home co-owner Zoe Mead [above]. “It is my favorite place to relax and unwind with my husband, Chris. I pack up a bag full of pillows and linens, some Wolffer wines, Babinski roasted corn, and we are on our way.”  Every moment of Zoe’s East End life is touched by her talent for casual, luxe design, including a simple beach date at sunset.  “Hamptons beaches have so many stunning colours and textures I don’t like to spoil it with bright gaudy colors. I spread out a large 19th C French heavy linen and hemp sheet  as a beach blanket with a big wool wrap I brought back from Uruguay.  My mother decorated with French linens everywhere so they are part of my upbringing. I love the texture mixed with weights and color. Speaks of a simpler life.”

“The patterned pillows are from the latest John Robshaw collection, which we have at English Country Home. Wolffer Chardonnay is always a must, and I love the copper plastic picnic forks I found at King Kullen in Bridgehampton!” [Shop the home items in this feature at English Country Home: 26 Snake Hollow Rd, Bridgehampton]

“I found these great laser cut paper bags on Etsy and put LED votives inside,” says Zoe.

“KDHamptons turned me on to these fabulous trick: A “One Log Fire” from The Greatest Blaze. You like the wick from the side and the log burns from within for a couple hours − perfect for the beach or entertaining at home in the Hamptons.”
