The latest design trend of ‘countryside chic’ and ‘coastal grandmother’ is showing no signs of slowing down! The timeless aesthetic has been around long before it covered Instagram and TikTok pages, and for Long Island architectural and design lovers the treasure trove you need to know about is LUMBER+Salt in Jamesport. Vintage has always been the passion at LUMBER + Salt where company specializes in creating a raw and refined aesthetic that speaks to both a preservation of the past and a sustainability for the future. KDHamptons paid a recent visit to meet intriguing owners John Mazur and creative director, Brooke Cantone- I could literally spend hours poring over all of the curated vignettes, fantastic finds, and story book items to be discovered at LUMBER + Salt…

LUMBER+Salt is truly a lifestyle brand born of Mazur’s and Cantone’s combined experiences in the creative world of retail, industrial design, fashion, art and antiques that personifies their appreciation and passion for all things visual, with a raw and refined sensibility & aesthetic. The two have impressive backgrounds with Mazur having served as Principle + Designer of an industrial and graphic design firm in Soho, and Cantone holding senior creative corporate roles in NYC in Fashion, Visual Merchandising, Marketing & Brand Experience since 1998.

“We call LUMBER+Salt a FARMERCANTILE: purveyors of fine +reclaimed goods with a simple creative process,”  shares John and Brooke. “We rethink old ideas and make them new again with creative conceptualizing, design, and building.” Sited on the North Fork of Long Island, LUMBER+Salt  John and Brooke continue to “expand their purposefully repurposed vision” with LUMBER+Salt’s design business under the Mazur & Co. banner, taking on new client projects from residential to restaurants on the East End.

This summer LUMBER+Salt will be hosting curated events to celebrate the bespoke crafts in the creative community. For more information about the company, click HERE.
