Alec Baldwin Helps Group for the East End "Dive Into Summer" at Wolffer Estate Vineyards Signature Gala!
Wolffer Estate Vineyard’s signature “Dive Into Summer” event to Benefit Group for the East End was held Saturday, June 15. The raised over half a million dollars to to protect and restore the stunning beaches, sparkling waters, expansive farms and untouched nature that make eastern Long Island so special.
Special guests Hilaria & Alec Baldwin joined hundreds of eco-interested East Enders for cocktails, dinner, dancing and auctions under the Sperry tents at Wolffer Estate Vineyard. All to benefit the great cause.
As the sun set, Baldwin took the stage wearing his wife’s bright yellow floral wrap [she was swearing his jacket] to speak about his longtime support of Group for the East End and “the great work they are doing to protect the East End for future generations” with their hands-on environmental educational programs, which have educated more than 60,000 kids to date.
Group for the East End President Bob DeLuca’s spoke of the Group’s fight to improve Long Island’s water quality and thanked guests for their support noting that, “we do not have the same struggle as others…the water on the East End is cleaner than neighboring areas. This is because you all ask for something better and will not settle for mediocre. For that, we all thank you.”
The Group for the East End protects and restores the environment of eastern Long Island through education, citizen action and professional advocacy. Established in 1972 as Group for America’s South Fork, the organization has been inspiring East Enders to embrace and act upon a conservation ethic for 40 years.
