Almond’s Artists & Writers Night Kicks off the Season with Tucker Marder

Almond restaurant announces the first “Artists & Writers Night” for the season hosted by artist Tucker Marder on Tuesday, October 13th at 7 p.m. The evening will feature a family style three-course menu created by executive chef Jason Weiner. The cost is $45, which includes a glass of local wine or craft beer, tax and gratuity. Reservations are required.

Tucker Marder is an artist born on the east end of long island. He is currently a Carnegie Mellon graduate student in the Contextual Practice MFA program. Tucker’s work has been exhibited at the National Aviary, The Phipps Botanical Garden and under water. Tucker was chosen by Robert Wilson to exhibit his work at the New Parrish Art Museum in the show Artists Choose Artists. Marder is also the founder of the Folly Tree Arboretum in Springs NY, a collection of rare and unusual trees intent on showcasing nature’s sense of humor. It had its first public installation – a conifer petting zoo and puppet theatre – at the Hayground School in August of 2014. Most recently Tucker’s piece STAMPEDE! premiered as part of the Parrish Art Museums Roadshow. It featured over 200 live crested indian runner ducks and three large abstract shape puppets.
