The heart of French and Italian garden culture opens a magnificent gallery offering monumental antiques for home and horticulture.

Design and garden lovers are flocking to two new Authentic Provence galleries with 45,000 square feet dedicated to offering the most distinctive European garden antiques as well as an adjacent gallery, AP Mid Century Modern, featuring original 20th-century European furniture, lighting, and paintings from Italy, France, Scandinavia, and the United States.

With an expansive facade, painted a deep green, the gallery and gardens are an immersive experience in French, Italian, and Scandinavian antiques. Flanked by impressive exterior courtyards reminiscent of the French countryside, Authentic Provence’s new space offers a backdrop to tell the story, history, and artistry behind each special piece. The resulting gallery is one of the largest interior design resources in the country for premier European antiques and furnishings with large-scale limestone tables, fountains, statuaries, planters, and antique and original imported floors.

Founded and owned by Susan and Wolfgang Hofherr, who have dedicated their unparalleled expertise to selecting each piece based on its authenticity, craftsmanship, quality, and distinctiveness, the extensive collection has been curated over many decades. Pieces are offered that are the hallmark of French and Italian culture, dating back to the 18th century. As one wanders the gallery, the eye will be amazed by the breadth of offerings, from Gustavian period objects to a French bar of extraordinary scale, from a hand-carved marble table to a Parisian bistro table, and from extra-large antique Lebrillo bowls to the renowned collection of imported garden urns in a vast array of finishes, sizes and colors.

AP Mid Century Modern introduces period furniture collections, celebrating Europe’s mix of stylistic influences. Wolfgang says of this showroom, “I like to express a mid-century modern movement in regard to the design in architecture and furniture.” Both galleries will offer an educational, entertaining schedule of talks and events with leading design and industry luminaries.
