KDHamptons: How long have you been coming to the Hamptons?

Autumn: I moved to NYC in 2003 and experienced the Hamptons for the first time that summer. I remember being so amazed by the energy and loved it right away. There’s an unexplainable peace that lives there.

KDHamptons: Describe your perfect Hamptons day for KDHamptons readers?

Autumn: In the summer I love jumping on a boat to Sunset beach with friends. Sitting in the sun for a long lunch, drinks and a lot of laughs, which are a must for the perfect day.

KDHamptons: What is your favorite piece in your collection right now, and where can we shop your line?

Autumn: I’m kind of obsessed with Missoni so i designed a pencil dress that really looks like a Missoni piece.  It’s the called the “Shining Star Pencil Dress”. Go to www.autumnhawknewyork.com to see my full collection.

KDHamptons: How did you come up with the signature “red zipper” you use in your collection?  What does it symbolize about your line?

Autumn: I was wanting to give back in a special way. I was inspired by the Louboutin craze and thought I could do the same with a red zipper. The red zipper is supposed to symbolize the red AIDS ribbon. It’s my hope to get people talking again thus educating more and more people on the disease.

KDHamptons: What is the best part of your job?

Autumn: The best is part is working with other women.  I’m a real “girl’s girl” and I’m inspired everyday by other women.

KDHamptons: What do you think is the “Hamptons Look”?

Autumn: Depends where you are. The style at polo in the Hamptons is an interesting look. The women try to out do each other with over-sized hats and Ralph Lauren from head to toe and it’s quite the sight to behold. Then you’ve got the young hipsters that seem to be taking over Southampton, so its really mixed. To me, the coolest Hamptons look is the woman not trying too hard. The woman with the sun kissed locks and the great sundress always steals the show.

KDHamptons: Describe your personal style.

Autumn: 3 words: Modern, Boho, and Glam.

KDHamptons: If you could invite anybody (dead, alive, or fictional) to your next Hamptons dinner party, whom would you choose?

Autumn: I love the old celebs.  I’m a big Dean Martin Fan.  I’d love to have dinner with the Rat pack. How cool would that be?!

KDHamptons: What is your mantra?

Autumn: YOLO!!
