Beth Stern Braves the Super Saturday Storms & Chats Fashion, Her New TV Gig, Husband Howard, and Missing Their Beloved Bulldog Bianca...
It was a wet and rainy 15th annual Super Saturday charity event in Water Mill, but that didn’t’ stop celebrities from strutting the grass carpet or the serious shoppers who flocked out east to grab designer discounts. In spite of all the crazy traffic and impending lightening storms the event, which featured more than 200 designers selling their merchandise for steep discounts, raised $3.6 million to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
Always a star studded summer event, the stormy skies did not deter our Hollywood Hamptonites from showing up to support this great cause…and get their shop on!
Gorgeous glamazon Beth Stern is a fixture at Super Saturday each summer, and KDHamptons correspondent Lisa Chase caught up with Beth on the GREEN carpet for some fun girl talk below:
KDHamptons: Beth, what is your favorite thing about the Hamptons?
Beth Stern: The beaches are like none other, I like the wildlife that surrounds our property – I just saw deer frolicking around our property – and a glass of wine at night overlooking our Southampton dunes is sheer bliss!
KDH: Do you & Howard have a favorite Hamptons restaurant?
Beth: We love the restaurants in the Hamptons – Nobu [below], or Red Bar Brasserie when we want something local and Nick & Toni’s in East Hampton.
KDH: Are you enjoying watching your hubby Howard [Stern] on “America’s Got Talent?” Is he just exhausted after filming or totally exuberant?
Beth: It’s my favorite show of the summer! He’s exhausted, but loving every minute of it and his fellow judges.
KDH: And you – you’re still hosting HGTV’s “Mom Caves” but have a new gig on the horizon too, correct?
Beth: Yes, I’m about start production on Nat GEO Wild’s “Spoiled, Rotten Pets” about how people spoil their pets. We’re going to see there are other people just like us!
KDH: We are so sorry to hear you just lost your bulldog Bianca. It must be a rough time for you both, no?
Beth: Yes, it’s been a hard week. We miss Bianca madly. But we also have three rescue cats. I love my Apple, Walter, & Leon Bear! [Beth has worked with the North Shore Animal League for the past 8 years helping save countless lives of animals through adoption].
KDH: For anyone wondering whether he or she should get a dog or a cat, what advice would you give, having had both?

KDH: What’s your secret to your marriage success?
Beth: We just love each other. We’re madly in love…
KDH: Do you shop for Howard here at Super Saturday?
Beth: Howard gets no love when I shop here! It’s all about me – it’s a day for me, unless there’s something in the goody bag for a man. That’s it (laughs).
KDH: You come here year after year to show your support. What brings you here and what do you love about Super Saturday?
Beth: The OCRF is making great strides in ovarian cancer research and I love joining all these shoppers for an incredible cause. Plus, you never know what you’re going to find and I always leave with the best deal ever!
