Camilla Lundengard
Occupation: Sotheby's Licensed Salesperson, wife of John Gonzalez and mom to daughter, Grace (almost 4!), and Louis our 16 year old pug
Current Residence: Water Mill
KDHamptons: How long have you been coming to the Hamptons?
Camilla Lundengard: I started to hear about this lovely place, that every person I met was talking about, in 2003. The way they described it to me, was pure magic. I said to myself “I just HAVE to see the Hamptons, but I didn’t start to come out regularly until 2005.
KDHamptons: Why do you love most about the East End?
Camilla: During Memorial-through Labor Day, I don’t want to be anywhere else than here. The Hamptons are full of life, restaurants are open, the streets are crowded, cars everywhere, beaches are packed, but I absolutely LOVE IT!! I’m a city girl, inside and out, and the Hamptons reminds me of New York during these hectic 3 months. so I’m not complaining at all, on the contrary.
KDHamptons: You are a licensed salesperson at Sotheby’s, how would you describe the current Hamptons real estate climate? Share one of your current favorite listings?
Camilla: The demand is absolutely there. People don’t come out here to make their lives more complicated. They come to the Hamptons to relax, and buying turnkey homes is part of that. Some even buy the house already furnished. Buyers want the whole package. There is no such thing like quickest or slowest right now, both rentals and sales are doing very well…. 2014 has been a good year, so far! Here’s a great listing:

KDHamptons: Describe your perfect Hamptons day in detail?
Camilla: A perfect day would be to pack our beach bag with lots of breakfast & lunch goodies. We would drive to Flying Point or Coopers Beach. We stay there and just enjoy the sun and surf all day. In the evening, we love to eat outside, there are so many wonderful restaurants in the Hamptons where you can enjoy a spectacular view.
KDHamptons: You always are perfectly put together. Which designers do you wear the most in the Hamptons?
Camilla: Oh my, the list is long. Diane Von Furstenburg, Donna Karen, Tory Burch, Ralph Lauren and Armani.
KDHamptons: What is your favorite Hamptons restaurant?
Camilla: I absolutely love Red Bar [love the Baked Alaska] in Southampton, Nick & Toni’s in East Hampton, Tutto Il Giorno in Sag Harbor, Robert’s in Water Mill, Suki Zuki in Water Mill [the Oriental Chicken Salad and the famous Zakitini at Suki Zuki is an absolute MUST!].
KDHamptons: Do you like to entertain at home? Who cooks? What’s your “go-to” dinner plan?
Camilla: I love to entertain and I absolutely love to have people over. My husband is a phenomenal cook, and he’s been spoiling me over the years, so the kitchen is basically “off limits” for me, so I just set the table and make it look pretty and nice. In our household we eat a lot of Pasta with different sauces and other fresh local ingredients.
KDHamptons: If you could invite three people to your Hamptons home for dinner whom would you choose?
Camilla: Einstein, Picasso and Grace Kelly [whom I named my daughter after]
KDHamptons: What is your little secret about the Hamptons?
Camilla: I found out about this secret that I just have to try! It’s in Water Mill and it’s basically one big room that a party of 8-10ppl can rent for an evening. It’s a set menu and it feels like you’re home in your own formal dining room, and people who have gone says its a very special experience, and I can’t wait to try it.
