Casamigos Goes Coast to Coast with the Academy Awards and SOBEWFF

KDHamptons  favorite tequila brand Casamigos kicked it on both coasts, from the Academy Awards to South Beach Wine and Food Festival the annual, week-long event that showcases the talents of the world’s most renowned wine and spirits producers, chefs and culinary personalities.

Founded by George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman, Casamigos is the fastest growing ultra-premium tequila on the market. At SOBEWFF, Casamigos hosted mixology sessions at Miky Grendene’s Casa Tua and 1 Hotel South Beach for National Margarita Day.

The closing party for all chefs at the festival, the Casamigos Chef After Party was a celebration for chefs to chill – and actually eat – at Nikki Beach Miami, South Beach’s ultimate party playground and landmark nightclub. 

Attendees included SOBEWFF mastermind Lee Brian Schrager with chefs Michael Symon, Adam Richman, Alex Guarnaschelli, Michael Schwartz, country star Martina McBride and The Good Doctor’s Hill Harper.

Chefs enjoyed signature Casamigos cocktails Casa Rosa, Pineapple Smoke and Añejo New Fashioned throughout the night alongside a live paella station serving Traditional Slow Cooked Spanish Seafood Paella with Saffron Infused Rice, Mussels, Clams, Grouper and Shrimp. Tray-passed bites included Seared Ahi Tuna with Wakame Salad served atop a Wonton, Grilled Teriyaki Chicken Skewers and Nikki’s Wood-Fired Brick Oven Pizzas.

Pineapple Smoke

2 oz. Casamigos Reposado Tequila

1 oz. Fresh Pineapple Juice 

1 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice 

.5 oz. Simple syrup 

2 Dashes Angostura Bitters 

Casamigos Mezcal Rinse 

Method: Combine all ingredients in a tin shaker and add ice. Shake vigorously for 8-10 seconds then fine strain into coupe glass. Garnish with 2 grilled pineapple cubes on a skewer and cinnamon line across cocktail.
