Delicioso eLTacobar! The Hottest New Mexican Restaurant in Sag Harbor
World famous Chef Laurent Tourondel has another hit Hamptons restaurant – the new authentic MEXICAN concept in Sag Harbor called eLTacobar. Tourondel, once again, works his culinary magic this time, recreating original Mexican recipes and, when possible, using fresh local produce, fish, and often organic and plant-based ingredients. It starts with homemade taco chips and tortillas, diverse, delicious combinations for Tacos, Bowls, and more. KDHamptons recently popped in for lunch with friends and loved it HERE. Fun fact, J-LO had just had lunch with her family.
Choose starters from Yucatan Veg Salad Vegetable, lime-cuming, dressing chicken, pork al pastor, shrimp, Street Corn with crèma, and cotija cheese. For Tacos- experience the Montauk Cod “Baja-style” jicama slaw, pickle onion, cilantro, or the Lobster and Local Corn Fresno chilies, pineapple-jicama pico, and smoked pork.
For bowls, choose from the mouthwatering Mexican Cowboy, which is grilled Carneasada, avocado, beans, corn, and cabbage, or the perfectly seasoned and cooked Cerdo, which is Glazed pork belly, avocado, pickled onion, and jicama. There are plenty of vegetarian selections like the Champinon yams, mole, avocado, grilled corn, and tomatoes, or the Slaw with cabbage, carrot, kohlrabi, jicama, tortilla crisps, cilantro, and vinegar.
The highlight is eLTacobar’s extensive list of tequilas, some from independent producers and small-batch distillers in Mexico dedicated to diffuser-free agave spirits. The flight of Tequilas is a must-try.
eLTacobar’s hand-craft summer cocktails are recipes using only fresh fruits and herbs, and all ingredients prepared in house. Try the eLTacobar Margarita Teramana Blanco, Agave, Fresh Lime, Salt Rim or the Passion en Fuego Espolon Blanco, Passion Fruit, Cointreau, Fresh Lime, Chilli Threads, Habanero Mist. There are always a variety of carefully selected fine wines and a full bar with a vibrant and lively atmosphere. ~ not drinking alcohol? Plenty of refreshing choices like Guava Lemonade, Watermelon Aqua Fresca or Grapefruit Jarritos.
And everyone needs something sweet, be sure to try the Churros Con Oaxacan Chocolate, Ancho Chili, cinnamon, nutmeg, star anise, cloves or the shaved Pineapple (above), pasilla chiles and lime.
