Discovery Land Company Hosts Dune Deck Beach Club Preview Party
Discovery Land Company is known for building luxury residential resorts in stunning locations, with communities across North America, as well as Baker’s Bay in the Bahamas and El Dorado in Mexico. On Saturday, August 20th, Discovery Land Company hit the beach on the East End, with their much anticipated opening of the Dune Deck Beach Club, in Westhampton. Officially opening in the summer of 2017, and only 80 miles from New York City, Dune Deck will host a total of 275 total members, compromised of 70 lodging members and 205 beach club members.
Michael S. Meldman [above] founded Discovery Land Company in 1994, out of a desire to create intimate communities where families and neighbors could bond over shared interests and a love of nature. Over the last twenty years, Meldman has achieved that dream, building 19 private luxury resort communities with distinct architectural styles and endless luxuries.
The club facilities will include an oceanfront resort pool, wading pool and hot tub, cabanas, indoor outdoor ocean view restaurant, fitness center and spa, sports court, and 33 furnished beach club suites.
Guests at the Dune Deck beach bash were offered a tour of a stunning spec club suite, which features a bedroom, living room with pullout sofa, kitchenette and two bathrooms. Soothing sand colored beach tones, paired with natural materials and textures set a tone for the interior design scheme at Dune Deck.
Down at the beach….popular local reggae band Jahstix performed, refreshing Casamigos cocktails made with fresh cold-pressed juices were served, and a mouth watering array of local seasonal foods were served to guests under a soaring Sperry tent, while kids helped a sand artist meticulously create a giant Dune Deck logo.
Outdoor Pursuits is the signature lifestyle and recreation concierge program at Discovery Land Company which is tailored to regional and geographic features at each location, and designed to create family bonds over outdoor activities with help from professional instructors and trainers.
Discovery surf instructors were flown in from Hawaii and Baker’s Bay to teach excited children and equally thrilled adults how to catch their first wave, SUP, or simply float around on a giant swan in the sunshine. Dune Deck activities and excursions will include all of the Hamptons outdoor obsessions: boating, fishing, surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, biking, and horseback riding.
Enjoying great local food in an inviting waterfront setting is what every Hamptonite lives for. Dune Deck members will enjoy the best farm-to-table & dock-to-dish dining, with the options to have meals prepared by chefs en suite, at the ocean-view restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, or the Deck Bar which will be located near the pool.
At the beach bash guests enjoyed: fresh clams, Montauk oysters, crab, tuna and more at the towering seafood bar, produce from Halsey Farm stand in Water Mill, as well as sweet treats from Tate’s Bake Shop in Southampton, cookies from Cynthia’s Treats and Hampton Chocolate Factory in Westhampton.
Partygoers were gifted custom made candles by Hamptons Handpoured, a handcrafted candle collection made by Brittany Torres in Southampton, and healthy cookies by Cynthia Sachs who bakes all of her Cynthia’s Treats delicious goodies in Westhampton.
In less than a year the Dune Deck Beach Club will be completed and filled with families who will enjoy everything the East End has to offer. For more information please go to: www.DiscoveryLandCo.com
