Does the dreaded traffic heading out to the Hamptons drive you nuts?  Well, here’s some great news! Gotham Air, touted as the “Uber for the skies,” just announced new flight routes available for booking now beginning Memorial Day weekend. Gotham Air will offer service to a variety of popular summer destinations including East Hampton, Southampton, and Montauk using a new environmentally friendly “fly quiet” fleet.  Additionally, Gotham Air will begin offering flights to Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, and Belmar, as well as weekday commuter flights to and from Westchester, Morristown, etc. for business travelers to Manhattan via the Wall Street, West 30th and East 34th Street heliports.

Tim Hayes, CEO of Gotham Air and John Kjekstad, Gotham Air Co-Founder & President of Helicopter Flight Services launched Gotham Air in January 2015 as the only helicopter shuttle service giving travelers the ability to book an affordable single seat for six minute flights from Manhattan’s Downtown Heliport to JFK & Newark airports without having to pay for the entire helicopter.

The routes will launch on Thursday, May 21st (Memorial Day Weekend) with reservations beginning today on GothamAir.com and forthcoming on the app.

Gotham Air allows travelers to either choose an individual seat from shared charter flights already listed on their platform or request a new crowdsourced flight if their desired date and time is not listed. Once four to six seats have been sold, the charter flight is confirmed.  Completely private helicopter charters are also available at any time.  “We are thrilled to elevate the level of helicopter flight service to The Hamptons and beyond,” says Tim Hayes.  “We focus on putting our guests in superior aircraft for a noticeably faster, smoother, quieter ride with windows that are 3 times larger than most helicopters. With these new flights, Gotham Air introduces a new fleet of Bell 407GX helicopters operated by Helicopter Flight Services. Each of these aircraft are equipped with the most advanced noise reduction technology, which Gotham Air has invested in to preserve the peaceful tranquility of the beach towns they will soon serve.
