According to textile designer and artist Serena Dugan [Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer] the Serena and Lily brand was born on one serendipitous day in 2001 when she stopped into a Mill Valley baby boutique owned by Lily Kanter [Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer], a Microsoft refugee-turned entrepreneur.

Serena shares,“Our backgrounds were worlds apart, but we shared a similar point of view. There was a void in the market for the kind of fresh, style-driven bedding we craved. We dreamed of children’s spaces filled with dynamic color and pattern and a unique blend of simplicity & sophistication. Within an hour, we had decided to form a new company!”

Sheesh! Sometimes it all just falls into place huh? The Serena & Lily brand exploded as an instant hit with taste-makers, decorators, Hollywood moms and dwellers who crave inspired design. Mountain Home – “Our new bedding and living collections represent Serena & Lily’s fresh take on the mountain home aesthetic with crisp, light, airy bedding, chunky white accents, and rich, super-soft throw pillows and blankets,” says Serena.

Serena tells KDH, “Hamptons style is just as stylish as New York, but with color and a laissez-faire attitude.” Lily adds, “I see Hamptons style as fun, colorful, and fashion-forward, but there’s also a very classic element to it that reflects a timeless summer nostalgia. Hamptons style makes me think of the quintessential summer~ all year round!”

Textiles – “We introduced new signature patterns for upholstery fabric and by-the-yard, all Serena’s original designs and all full of the color and print that Serena & Lily is known for, with 14 new options in total,” shares Lily.
