Is there anything more satisfying than indulging in a perfectly grilled burger & fries on a  Hamptons summer night?  Americana at its best!! Surprisingly, great burgers are sometimes difficult to find, but lucky for us Hamptons foodies, the best burger chefs in the country are heading out East to compete in the annual Montauk Superburger competition~ and it’s finally open to the public!

What better excuse do you need to indulge in America’s favorite meal?!

What used to be a strictly invitation-only-event, The Montauk Superburger [rightfully known as The Hamptons Burger Bloodbath] is finally open to all hamburglars. More than a dozen of the city’s burger masters are set to compete in this fierce burger battle!

The winner will receive the SUPERBURGER crown and an elusive spot in the 2012 New York City Burger Bash!!

Sure to be a tough competition, The Burger Joint and Momofuku Milk Bar will headline the event. Challenges to the two power houses will include top chef’s Tertulia’s Seamus Mullen; Alex Stupak of Empellon’s; Zak Pelaccio; Michael White who will finally revel his much anticipated Butterfly Burger, Harold Moore, and PJ Clarke’s among other burger masters. Former champions Spike Mendelsohn and Josh Capon will serve as the judges for the event.

The perfect way to end the summer, the competition begins on August 25th at 1PM at the Montauk Yacht Club. The price of admission includes all the burgers you can eat, full open bar, and a front row seat to judging. Click here for the full line-up and to purchase tickets. Nom Nom!!
