Imagine the wild excitement that comes with owning a professional football team that has just won the Super Bowl?!
Hard to relate I know, but KDH readers and New York Giants fans are in for a big, blue exclusive treat: Longtime Hamptonite and friend of KDH~ Lynn Mara~ is sharing her personal photo diary from Super Bowl XLVI exclusively with KDHamptons readers. Wife of Giants owner Frank Mara, Lynn is a highly collectible painter whose work can be found at her sister Erin’s store, Topiaire, in Southampton, or at www.lynnmara.com.
Below, Lynn shares her exclusive Super Bowl Diary with KDHamptons:
Lynn shares,”These photos are from my perspective and really just give a glimpse of the magical privilege of being part of the Giants family. I never forget where I come from though – an ordinary, and loving family on a potato field in Southampton. “How did I get here?”, is the question I constantly ask myself.
Since my first date with Frank some 28 years ago, I still pinch myself to be sure I’m
not dreaming. This is not a lifestyle I grew up in. It is magical beyond my wildest dreams, and I always wish that I could take my family and friends from home along for the journey in my pocket.
My photos capture the moments before departure on our chartered flights, the adrenaline rush of police escorts, and a special perspective to observe the fans reations to the players they idolize and adore.
The ticker tape parade in NYC was our second in 4 years. It was an indescribable high to experience from the inside looking out. I truly can’t imagine how or why I find myself here. I just thank God every day for the infinite blessings in my life.
I hope you get a sense of “being there” from my point of view. It is a joy unlike any other in my life.”
Sincerely,
Lynn Mara
