Can we ever get enough of “Summer Lovin’?

KDH and Doc bopped in our seats with Lily at the Pierson Middle School production of Grease over the weekend~ wow~ these kids can sing! The producer of the show was Melissa Luppi who has been directing students in Pierson musicals for several years. Mark and I were impressed by the costumes, set design, and music~ but most of all it was fun to see how much the kids were enjoying entertaining the crowd.

“It’s a fun play to do in middle school,” shared seventh grader Brendan Powell [who stars as Danny Zucco] to sagharboronline.  “I like [Danny’s] attitude. In some ways he’s like me — but he gets in more trouble than me.” Playing Sandy was eighth grader Sheila Mackey, who did a great job playing Zucco’s vulnerable object of affection.

Pierson musicals have become quite popular for the students so competition for roles can be competitive in the upper grades, but Luppi made sure that every student who wanted to be in “Grease” made it on to the stage.

All of the “big kids” in the audience had a blast singing along in our heads…

Didn’t every girl wish they could be Sandy? [uhh…after the makeover!]
