Calling all ocean enthusiasts! Grab your goggles and roll up your sleeves because Gurney’s Montauk’s beloved family programming is here for a summer of fun in the sun. Gurney’s Resorts is welcoming back summer with the return of Camp Gurney’s at Gurney’s Star Island Resort & Marina in Montauk, NY. This unique family-focused programming created in partnership with the Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program offers the property’s youngest guests the chance to explore Montauk’s marine ecosystem, learning valuable lessons about conservation and having fun along the way.

Through Camp Gurney’s programming children ages 12 and under can enjoy nature walks and talks, science programming, art-focused activities, and also participate in valuable conservation efforts such as oyster seeding activities. For several sessions of Camp Gurney’s, activities will be led by educators from the team at Cornell Marine, who will be sharing their knowledge and love of the ocean. These educational and exciting experiences immerse children into the wonders of Montauk’s marine world, while parents have the chance to enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation.

Camp Gurney’s is a seasonal offering, complimentary for guests of both Gurney’s Montauk and Gurney’s Star Island and open daily throughout the summer. The program is available seven days a week, with three sessions taking place daily from 10:00 a.m.– 12:00 p.m., 12:00 – 2:00 pm and from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Available only on Fridays and Saturdays is a special evening session from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., perfect for families who are either just arriving and kicking off their weekend getaway, or for parents who are for looking to enjoy a date night while knowing that their children are engaged in a unique and educational experience. During the Monday, Wednesday and Friday sessions taking place from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Cornell Marine Educators will be on site.

Preregistration is highly recommended to ensure a spot and can be completed by either contacting the front desk upon arrival or by emailing denise.duda@gurneysresorts.com prior to arrival. Guardians of participants will be directed to complete a mandatory authorization form upon registration.
