Over the past year, KDHamptons has helped aid in the adoption of many dutiful dogs and compassionate cats at the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation (SASF). We love receiving fabulous emails from the shelter informing us that KDHamptons readers have been coming to the rescue of these adorable animals in need of a Hamptons home! Thank you!!

KDH swung by the shelter to meet some of the new cats & dogs who are looking for a new home in the NEW YEAR!! Below are a couple of the furry friends I met. I hope you might consider adopting a pet in 2013~ what better resolution is there than to save a life? [pssst! If the timing isn’t right for you to adopt now, you can make a donation to underwrite one of the shelter pet’s cages as well].

Roberta is a 9 year old senior beauty looking for a new couch or lap to curl up in! This gentle soul is full of affection as she waits and longs for her turn for a home. All cats that have been here for more than a year come with 6 months of food and medical care, and their adoption fees are waived. This promotion runs until the end of January. Roberta would love to be next!

Buttercup has had a hard beginning. She was found as a stray, adopted, and when her owner became too ill, she was brought back here. So, we begin again with this shy, yet soft 8 year old girl in search of a forever home. Buttercup likes other dogs and would make a very loyal sidekick. She would be very happy to go for a stroll to “anywhere” with you! Buttercup’s adoption fee is waived as dogs over the age of 6 years are free until the end of the month!
