Managing a multi-million dollar hedge fund, and achieving ‘It-girl’ status by Vogue magazine, Julie Macklowe was flying high in NYC all before the age of 30. So what did she decide to do? Quit her job and found a luxury beauty brand called vbeauté, working to bring the best in Swiss skincare to all women with her vegan, gluten, paraben, fragrance, nut and oat free beauty line that promises “victory over time”. Julie has a summer home in the Hamptons and is frequently traveling the globe.

KDHamptons: What inspired you to make such a dramatic career switch?

Julie Macklowe: Insanity.  Seriously I had no idea what I was getting into! I had my toiletries taken by TSA, was annoyed when the products I purchased made me break out in hives after spending a boat load of money, and the “it kit” – your five “V” travel essentials was Born in vbeaute.  Our line is the latest in Swiss anti-age botanical technology.  The line is vegan, gluten free, paraben free, nut and oat free and simple – easy to use anti age system- day and night one system for all skin types.

KDHamptons: How did you learn so much about developing these swiss beauty products?

Julie: A lot of time working with geniuses much smarter than myself who have PHD in molecular biology and know what they are doing! I wanted to make the best!

KDHamptons: Which of your products specifically would be best for Hamptons beach beauties?

Julie: Day Job SPF it’s available at Whites Pharmacy in East Hampton – 20% micronized zinc it blends flawlessly, minimizes fine lines and wrinkles, is a physical SPF and doesn’t clog pores – my genius product, seriously nothing like it on the market.

KDHamptons: How have you expanded your product line in different categories?

Julie: My line has grown to include colored lip glosses, creams with SPF protection as well as skin lightening serum to reduce dark spots and age spots. Along with CRB High Performance Lab, we continue to research to discover new, highly advanced active ingredients to satisfy the ever-evolving cosmetic needs and will be launching additional age-antagonizing products Fall 2014.

KDHamptons: What does your perfect Hamptons day look like?

Julie: Spending time with my daughter and husband. Usually a nice beach run or ride on my Eliptogo, a surf in the ocean and a couple fun families over to eat.

KDHamptons: You are known to be a fabulously fun hostess, what are 2 top tips everyone should follow when entertaining guests?

Julie: Music and alcohol – and don’t forget the fun people – required for a fun party!
