KDHamptons Beach Diary: Our Sunset Surf Party at Road G

East End artist Brian Farrell caught some of the best waves at Road G.

On warm Sunday afternoons, KDH loves to throw together a little surf sunset party at Road G in Southampton. Dr. Kot checks the surf report to see if there will be good waves at this coveted beach spot located across from the helipad in Southampton. I quickly put together a fresh gourmet picnic which can only be curated in the Hamptons!

My pal Rita Schrager and I zip over to Round Swamp in East Hampton to pick up their Picnic Fried Chicken, Corn Salad, Caprese Pasta, Avocado Salad, and Vegetable Spring Rolls [which usually don’t make it past the ride back to Southampton!]. We also pack a little cooler of Domaine Ott rosé to toast the Sunset!

The colors of the surf and sky were more like a painting than a photo.

Montauk surfers made the drive to Southampton to catch the waves!

Dr. Kot hits the waves after work!

On any given surf day this little Meadow Lane parking lot is packed with jeeps, pick ups, and convertible packed with surfers who were all excited to catch some of the best end of summer waves. You can usually catch local surf stars Tripoli Patterson, Kurt Rist, Chris Clarke, and East End artist Brian Farrell paddling into the sunset…

We bumped into a tiny patient of Dr. Kot's who sported her cute little cast on the beach!

Former New York City Ballet dancer Rita Shrager's moves are still on point! She struck a few ballet poses with pal Albert Evans who is a principal dancer for the NYCB.

The gorgeous girls and guys of Southampton make a pyramid for a memorable KDH photo!
