KDHamptons recently caught up with jewelry maven Jamie Pope, creator of Liz James [an Austin-based jewelry designer] to see the beautiful baubles she has in store for the holiday season. I like the style of this line~ it has an organic mix of boho, chic, and dressy elements all in one. Jamie’s pieces are perfect for Christmas and New Years Eve parties, and make for great gifts as well.  Hollywood style stars Carrie Underwood and Jennie Garth love to layer up Liz James pieces before they hit the red carpet.

KDHamptons: How would you describe your brand?

Jamie Pope: I draw inspiration from nature and the beautiful world that surrounds me. I delicately design pieces that can be dressed up or down, with a ball gown or a tshirt. My jewelry gives you the freedom of creating numerous looks by layering just a few of my necklaces. The stones I use are chosen because the elements in each are just as unique as the person who will wear them.

KHDamptons: Why is your brand called Liz James?

Jamie: Liz is an abbreviation of my middle name, Elizabeth, and James was my childhood nickname!

KDHamptons: Who/what inspires you the most?

Jamie: I will admit that I have an advantage – I grew up under the nurturing umbrella of my mother’s creativity. As the daughter of sculptor and painter Rosie Sandifer, I got to see my mother’s work around the world and it made me explore the possibilities of my natural talents.

KDHamptons: What would be the perfect Christmas gift from your collection?

Jamie: The Norah Bracelet [above] is a small dainty piece that comes in either white, or gray pearls that playfully dangle from a 14kt gold fill chain. Buy just one or get them both and layer them together! We love playing with pearls and are definitely not shy about layering them up!
