KDH Feast End: Delish Dinner Details & A Chocolate Bomb Shared At The Caiolas Dinner In Water Mill!
Dr. Kot and I popped over to Louis and Marie Caroline Caiola’s house for a fabulous dinner party the other night. Now that KDH lives in the Hamptons full time, it’s fun to really dive into the year round lifestyle, get to know people better, and make some new friends. Lucky for us, the Caiolas happen to be our neighbors! Double Down~ Louis happens to be an amazing cook!
The design savvy couple have curated a “Modern Farmhouse” with the help of Harry Fischman of Fischman Design in Sag Harbor. Their home has a decidedly zen aesthetic: pagoda gables, washed cedar beamed trellises, and a wraparound river stone moat. The surprise design element is that the home is bound by industrial elements [galvanized aluminum~ used as moldings & trim, concrete paving stone, and commercial grade windows & doors]. It reminds me of the haute homes in Palm Desert I used to shoot at [when I was a Conde Nast fashion editor] infused with a Tribeca loft twist. Christopher LaGuardia of LaGuardia Design in Water Mill is the landscape architect for the pristine property. Marie Caroline est trés Français, and you can totally see her influence in the outdoor living space~ the oversized white couches feel more like you are lounging at Club 55 in Saint Tropez, than hanging poolside in Water Mill!
Feasting on the delicious lamb curry which Louis prepared perfectly were: Oliver and Kristen Eberstadt, Franz and Sabrina Von Walderdoff, Nick and Eve Combemale, and Geoff and Jennifer Ringelstein.
KDH appreciates a little risk taking in the kitchen, but we were cautiously optimistic about trying the deep green Kale salad which was served~ alas, taste buds concurred~ it was a surefire hit! I convinced Louis to slip me a copy of the recipe followed so I could share it with KDHamptons readers [see below].
We all had a fantastic time: great food, great conversation, lots of laughs and a one-minute walk home under the moonlight with my husband? Priceless!
Merçi beaucoup Marie Caroline and Louis!
*Do try this at home~ so easy!
