KDH Feast End: Rita Schrager's Ice Cream Surprise Recipe!
Here’s a cool new twist on how to serve America’s favorite dessert~ ICE CREAM! My friend Rita Schrager served up this sweet and savory surprise at a recent dinner party and we all loved it. Sooo, I thought we would share it KDHamptons readers too. The preparation could not be any easier and the result is decidedly delish!
Ingredients:
Haagen Daz Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
Champagne Grapes
Aged Balsamic Vinegar [aged at least 20 years is always best!]
*Place 3 scoops of ice cream on each dessert plate [KDH entertaining tip: Start collecting pretty dessert plates at antique stores or estate sales. Even if there is only a set of four, it adds a decorative touch to the presentation at a small dinner party. Rita and I used these black cut glass dishes which are so chic!]
*Use a tablespoonful of the balsamic vinegar to drizzle over the ice cream on each plate
*Garnish with a stem of Champagne grapes
Et Voila! The dessert is ready to serve. The sweetness of the vanilla bean flavor, paired with the saltiness of the vinegar and juicy bursts of the baby grapes is a magic mouthful! Do try this at home…
