Sometimes even when it’s super cold outside, you gotta get out of the house in the Hamptons! KDH and Dr. Kot decided to check out Candlelight Fridays at the Wolffer Estate in Sagaponack recently. Manhattan based vocalist Vanessa Trouble was performing materials ranging from vintage jazz, classic swing and modern retro. Click the top photo to play video of Vanessa crooning to the crowd.
We made it a family date night with Doc’s daughter Lily. Live music followed by dinner at Pierre’s? I’m in!
Candlelight Fridays are a happenin’ weekly event from 5-8pm throughout the fall/winter season that Hamptons music & wine lovers can’t get enough of. There’s no cover charge to listen to some of New York’s finest musicians while you sip Wolffer wines by the glass, mulled wine and snack on cheese & charcuterie plates [available for purchase].
Perched on a rise overlooking the lush vineyards to the East and the gently rolling Hamptons landscape to the West, Wölffer Estate Winery is unquestionably one of the most beautiful on Long Island. Rivaling European wineries, the rustic, Tuscan-style building with its warm ochre walls, houses a lavish tasting room with imported stain glass doors, an expansive portico and below lies the state-of –the-art winery – an appropriate foundation for the world class Wölffer wines created and nurtured by winemaker Roman Roth.
Next up for Candlelight Fridays: Tomas Rodriguez, jazz guitarist who plays with a passionate originality drawing from the musical heart of the Latin world., Friday February 03, 2012
Location: Wölffer Estate Winery
139 Sagg Road
Sagaponack

Now the date night diary continues on for dinner!! One of my favorite restaurants is Pierre’s in Bridgehampton. Pierre is always the most welcoming host and I think he serves the best Moules “Poulettes” with pommes frites on the East End. Yum! Mark loves the Brandade de Morue: Cod with little potato purée, olive oil, garlic and crème fraiche, and Lily loves the Linguini with fresh cockles and clams. Check out my delish photo diary from the dinner table:
