The Pierson Whalers boys’ varsity team clinched its Class C playoff spot against the Bridgehampton Killer Bees in a 73-57 victory that night, followed by a 53-40 win [and a ticket to the postseaston] over the Shelter Island Indians. Tied with Greenport, the Whalers are currently in second place with a record of 7-2. [First place team is Stony Brook].
