KDHamptons Feast End: Halsey Farm Stand Opens For Season
Lucky me, my favorite Hamptons farm stand, Halsey Farm & Nursery, happens to be at the end of my road in Water Mill. The 82 acre farm is owned and operated by Adam & Beth Halsey, whose family has farmed the land since 1747 when their ancestors raised livestock and produce for their families, as well as to barter and to sell to whaling ships docked in Sag Harbor.
Today’s 12th generation of Southampton farmers continue the tradition with modern technology cultivating a growing season which begins in early spring in their greenhouses with a large selection of perennials, annual flowers and vegetable plants. The farm stand store remains open through late November so be sure to hit up Halsey and whip up the most delicious farm to table dinner for your family.
Location: 513 Deerfield Road, Water Mill
Halsey Farm also grows some of the nicest California Privet hedge on Long Island [below]. We have several sizes of privet available, which are dug to order so the plants that you purchase are as fresh as can be. Privet can be ordered at either our Nursery or the Farm Stand.
