With bikini season fast approaching, Hamptonites start to become more vigilant about working out and eating right. KDHamptons checks in with Kiley DeMarco, founder of One Healthy Hamptons, to get some helpful tips on kicking things into high gear. She shares, “I’m all about health, fitness, and fun in this amazing place we call home – the Hamptons. I love living in the heart of Sag Harbor with my husband and our gigantic puppy, Sammy.”  The weekend before Memorial Day is when our incredible farmer’s markets and farm stands kick off the season. Kiley counts down the Top Twelve below:

Kiley shares: It wouldn’t be springtime in the Hamptons without local farm stands and farmer’s markets popping up all over the East End. The healthy Hamptons lifestyle embraces local goodness, homemade crafts, and the freshest produce around. From grapes to greens, potatoes to pickles, cauliflower to candles, supporting our local farmers, artisans, and businesses is the blood that flows through Hamptons culture.

There’s something so refreshing about purchasing your greens from the grower, seafood from the fisherman, breads from the baker, and wine from the vineyard. It’s a healthy, win-win for all. We support our neighbors while benefitting from the freshest, high vibrational, most nutrient-packed foods for our family, our community, and our bodies.

“The first day of the farmer’s market season is special because I finally get to reap what I sew.” says Dave Falkowski [aka“The Mushroom Man”] of Open Minded Organics. “We’ve been growing for the past four months, and today, we get to see some financial gain as well as so many familiar faces. There’s nothing like the direct contact with the community at the farmers market.” Dave started growing 12 years ago, the same year that the Sag Harbor Farmer’s Market commenced. “The strength of this market has grown every year along with our individual growth. It’s nice to see my fellow farmers and small businesses grow along with the market itself. The local economic stimulus and the benefits of customers eating local fresh foods are the most valuable results.”
