The annual Fall Run in Montauk lures fishermen from all over the world, who come out to fish for Striped Bass as they gorge on baitfish in droves from late September through early November before migrating south. Gulls and terns are telltale signs where to find these feeding blitzes as they dive from the air for the scraps among the boils of fish. Experienced Surfcasters love to fish on the rocky shores around the lighthouse for the thrill and adrenaline rush as they rise to the challenge in landing their trophy “Cows” sweeping across the point.
