I can never have enough beautiful flowers, fragrances, and candles in my Hamptons home. I’m always on the hunt for the most special new brands, scents, and products.  I recently met Julien Pruvost, creative director of luxury lifestyle brand Carrière Frères. Inspired by the indomitable spirit of scientific discovery, Carrière Frères explores the world of scents and you will fall in love with their entire line of candles, room sprays, diffusers, and new botanical palets (pictured here).

The story of Carrière Frères naturally follows that of the Royal Wax Manufacture, known today as Trudon. In 1884, the Carrière brothers decided to buy the manufacture: passionate about historical savoir-faire, they had in mind to modernize it. Respectful of traditions, they embraced the century-old heritage of master candle makers established in the 17th and 18th centuries and created Carrière Frères in 1889. Ingeniously, they extend their religious use to include candles as decorative objects: a new generation of pillar and taper candles are placed on dinner tables or favored during festive evenings.

An addition to Carrière Frères’ range of scented candles, the botanical palets introduce a new kind of accessory: practical, it is designed to perfume small spaces, like a wardrobe or drawer. Entirely hand-made in the house’s workshops, the scented wax palets come in 5 different perfumes : Damascus Rose, Syracusa Lemon, Lavender, Cedar and Orange Blossom. I love to collect beautiful lingerie and add a different palet to each of my drawers. I also hang one in my walk-in closet, shoe closet, and the linen closet. Sinking into lavender scented sheets is such a dream.

Octagonal, each palet is adorned with a green cotton ribbon – to hang it up – and a botanical element, sustainably sourced by l’Herboristerie de la Chartreuse. The French family-run company sees to it that each botanical ingredient either comes from a network of local foragers or from worldwide partners, handpicked for their commitment to sustainable practices. Also launching now is gorgeous new candle scent by Cire Trudon La Petite Bougie (candle) named Cyrnos. In its aromatic citrus garden, the sunny Cyrnos villa welcomed the flamboyant upper crust of early 20th century high society, Queens, poets and artists met in the shade of fig trees and parasol pines. They enjoyed a fabulous view and the easy life so typical of the blue Mediterranean shores. The villa benefited from Roquebrune’s air of scented lavender mixed with the dry aromas of Provence.
