On Thursday, August 20th, Urban Zen hosted an event for Haiti in the Hamptons with a private tour and luncheon hosted by Donna Karan and Lise Evans to benefit the Parsons Design Fellowship Program at the D.O.T Haiti. The afternoon began at Urban Zen Sag Harbor with a tour of the Haitian artisan products and samples from the first D.O.T program. Next, guests went to Urban Zen’s garden where they watched a short video about the D.O.T program and the work being done.

Guests then dined for lunch next door at Gianpaolo and Gabby Karan De Felice’s Tutto il Giorno and the afternoon finish off with Donna herself giving personal styling tips to the ladies shopping at the Urban Zen boutique.

On Friday and Saturday the trunk show was open to the public where patrons also toured Haiti in the Hamptons, shopped as well as met Donna and the artisans.  A portion of proceeds from sales benefited the Urban Zen Foundation and Parson’s School of Design’s D.O.T program in Haiti.

Those in attendance at the luncheon included: Laura Day Roberts, Stephanie Hirsch, Bonnie Young, Elizabeth Pepperman, Jane Sutherland, Bara Tisch, Kay Unger, Carola Jain, Alexia Leuschen as well as Haitian artisans Caroline Sada, Chandler Busby, Karine Faubert Villard and Paula Coles.
