KDHamptons Party Diary: Southampton Hospital's 'Forward To The Future' Event Raises $1.7 Million!
The longest-running annual Hamptons fundraiser proved to be another fantastic evening filled with fashion, fun….and fundraising! On Saturday, August 3, over 750 glamorous guests turned out to support Southampton Hospital’s 55th Annual Summer Party, emceed by WNBC anchor Chuck Scarborough. Benefit Chair Jean Shafiroff, glided through the crowd in the prettiest teal blue tiered chiffon gown by Oscar de la Renta, alongside Honorary Chair Audrey Gruss. Corporate Chairs Allen & Co., Barclays, Sequin, and Douglas Elliman Real Estate all helped to make the benefit possible.
A very impressive $1.7 million was raised by the Summer Party, providing critical support for the Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department and the new Audrey and Martin Gruss Heart and Stroke Center. A favorite party of the Old Guard of Southampton society, guests buzzed about the new location of the event and beautiful tent and cool decor.
The theme this year was “Forward to the Future” at the Art Southampton pavilion on the Elks Club Grounds in Southampton. The venue was designed by Antony Todd with reflective wall décor and glimmering candlelight. Guests danced to the Alex Donner Orchestra and enjoyed an elegant dinner catered by Robbins Wolfe Eventeurs.
