KDHamptons Photo Diary: ARTHAMPTONS 2015!
ArtHamptons returned for the annual Fourth of July weekend and the featured works were better than ever. An amazing variety of galleries and artists from all around the world, as well as several local artists, came together for this magnificent art fair open to the public. ArtHamptons 2015 relocated to a grander and more accessible location at an opulent private estate on Lumber Lane Reserve in Bridgehampton. The Fair also curated a one-acre area devoted to exhibiting galleries’ outdoor sculptures, creating a ideal venue for VIP cocktail receptions at the fair.
Local Hamptons artists exhibited at the show including: Giancarlo Impiglia, Luann Thompson, and Anne Chwatsky to exotic works from places like Seoul, South Korea and Barcelona, Spain.
Local Bridgehampton artist, Giancarlo Impiglia, combines color with historical references to create his masterpieces. Originally from Italy, his art incorporates both his Italian culture and the Hamptons color and beauty.
Anne Chwatsky calls both Long Island and New York her home. Chwatsky’s photographs have been exhibited in galleries and museums all over, from New York City and the Hamptons, to Texas, California, and abroad. According to the Shipley School, in 1991 Chwatsky received a Suffolk County Art grant to photograph the vanishing farm families on Eastern Long Island. She recently finished working on a grant from the Sag Harbor Historical Society to photograph the local heritage.
