LONGHOUSE RESERVE ANNOUNCES A FULL SCHEDULE OF FALL EVENTS FOR ALL AGES!

Looking for Fall plans that are great for the entire family? LongHouse Reserve just announced a full schedule of Fall events that  will be open five days a week through December 31st. Guest of all ages are welcome to enjoy weekly programming for the whole family such as current and permanent artworks on display, craft projects and ‘leaf peeping’ as the trees across 16 acres put on their annual Fall foliage extravaganza. Every Thursday evening through November, you can experience the power of plants and art at dusk as LongHouse is extending their hours until 7pm.  Each week is a special program; a film on October 12, poetry and music on October 19 and a special evening honoring Día de Los Muertos on November 2. Fall Foraging allows visitors to touch and gather leaves, pine cones and acorns to help create a community meditation circle, that will be made from natural plant material. LongHouse is providing a basket for guests to collect fallen leaves as they wander around and they are inviting guests to engage with their project of peace.

Halloween Weekend kicks off with LongHouse’s annual party for all dog friends, with Canines in Costume on October 28th from 10am – 12pm. Bring your furry friends to LongHouse dressed in their Halloween costumes for a party on the great lawn, with treats and companionship.  This event is in collaboration with ARF.

Spend the entire Halloween weekend with LongHouse in your own costume as LongHouse will become a weekend-long festival of fun with impromptu parades, special art projects and sweet refreshments.

LongHouse Illuminated returns Friday and Saturday evenings in December. Visit LongHouse after dark and roam the garden paths lined with lights and glowing sculptures. NeoPolitical Cowgirls will perform Zima, as creatures in the woodlands while they roam the grounds. Warm up in the pavilion with a holiday market of festive music, food, drinks and art and jewelry made by local artists.

Visit Wyatt Kahn’s three corten steel sculptures as part of Life in Abstract – Parade, Painting the Painter, Umbrella – in partnership with the Public Art Fund, Daniel Arsham’sBronze Eroded Venus de Milo, Steven and William Ladd’sRight Here Right Now, and Maren Hassinger’sMonuments 3 and 6, woven from branches on the LongHouse property.

Member Mornings are every Saturday from 10am – 12pm, before LongHouse opens to the public. Come early for Gentle Yoga and Meditation with Jason Amis, arts and crafts for kids with Shine Studio and wandering the gardens before visitors arrive.
