KDH had a lovely kitchen chat today with Dini von Mueffling, Co-Founder of Love Heals, the Alison Gertz Foundation for Aids Education. Every summer, Love Heals throws the party of the season for Hamptonites who love to give back- and know how to have a lot of fun!! KDH [who was on the committee for the event] hit the big Coney Island themed event last night, July 9, with my beautiful glamour girls style expert Mary Alice Stephenson [who hosted the event], and celebrity stylist Ann Caruso.

“Love Heals is the leading provider of HIV Aids education to the youth of NYC,” Dini tells KDH, “the party at Luna Farm is our biggest event of the year; this year was our 12^th anniversary! The event was hugely successful, about 700 people attended. I am always grateful to spend the night having fun with friends who come out to support this great cause. The best part of the night was boogying down with my “besties”, Mary Alice and Ann. Those were some lucky guys who danced with us!”

KDH and crew had so much fun at the party! In keeping with Coney Island theme, Patron provided a simulated rollercoaster photo booth for guests to get their photo taken in, and then projected the images onto the tent over the dance [see our pic above with Dr. Kot].

Dini shared some surprising statistics with KDH, “The fact is that one in seventy New Yorkers have HIV- and half of them don’t even know it. In addition, over 1million Americans have HIV, and the numbers are not going down. This is an entirely preventable illness; the key is communication. You have to talk openly about protecting yourself and those you love.”
