Luxury Vintage Retailer 'What Goes Around Comes Around' Opens East Hampton Boutique
Well this is some very exciting news for Hamptonistas: The legendary luxury vintage retailer What Goes Around Comes Around (WGACA) has opened a stunning new boutique in East Hampton. The new Hamptons location, features high-end designer handbags [yes-Birkins!] and accessories, and a curated selection of spring and summer clothing—including everything from couture designers to beach chic—specifically designed to appeal to the haute Hamptons set.
WGACA is known for having the world’s largest collection of vintage Chanel and Levi’s denim. In the East Hampton store, customers and fans of the brand including the Olsen twins can also find rare pieces from Hermès, Pucci, Jean Paul Gaultier, Lilly Pulitzer, and Balenciaga, to name a few. Each piece has been hand selected and curated for the vintage connoisseur. “They say timing is everything,” says co-founder Gerard Maione. “We’ve considered opening WGACA in the Hamptons for many years, and we finally feel that now is the perfect time for our brand positioning: with an impeccable product selection, a captivating interior aesthetic and a clientele that craves luxury.”
Adds co-founder Seth Weisser, “We’re excited to be bringing WGACA and the Hamptons together. We’ve known for years that there’s an incredibly sophisticated and educated vintage clientele here.”
Designed by creative visionary Gerard Maione, the glistening 1,300-square-foot East Hampton store combines vintage and modern design elements, suggesting an effortless blend between timeless and contemporary styles embodied by the WGACA brand. Upon entry, guests are greeted by an oversized Chanel bottle sculpture, a commissioned antique created by a French artist for a mansion in the south of France. The store’s cases, etageres, tables, chairs and lighting feature brass chrome and marble accents representing influential designers from the 1960s through to the 1980s such as Mastercraft, Baughman and Pace. Contemporary additions include original light fixtures from France, custom European paint colors, and wooden fixtures with a brass wrap-around railing that offer a subtle nod to the design of WGACA’s Los Angeles store.
The WGACA store is located at 48 Main Street in East Hampton, New York, and will be open all year long. Summer store hours are Monday through Thursday 10am – 6pm, and Friday through Sunday from 10am – 7pm. The East Hampton store can be directly reached at (631) 324-0874.
