If KDH has a shopping “issue”- it’s definitely shoe-related! I love to fill my summer shoe closet with fancy sandals, wedges, and fun flats. Our pal, Billy Lawson and his gorgeous wife Melissa, have done nothing to stop this shoe addiction! The Lawsons live on Georgica Road, have two boys, and for the past 14 years these Hamptons retail veterans have filled their Shoe-Inn shop in East Hampton with footwear that fashionistas can’t resist. Formerly situated next to Babettes, Shoe-Inn has moved to a prime new spot smack dab in the middle of Main Street!

KDH chatted with Billy about summer trends, famous feet, and the return of the luxury shopper who Billy says is “definitely back, but with a sense of appreciation and sensitivity that wasn’t always there before.”

KDH: What are the top footwear trends this summer in the Hamptons?
Billy Lawson: The top trend is putting a new spin on a Hamptons classic. For example: Michael Kors has bold colored espadrille that feel more like a ballet flat[$69], Sperry has silver metallic topsiders[88], and Jack Rogers is now offering a wedge version of their infamous woven leather sandal[$178].

KDH: Is there one shoe that is flying off the shelves this summer?
BL: My manager, Betty Rannazzo, said today that the Tory Burch “Leslie” cork wedge is almost sold out[$295], as well as Tory’s wood wedge espadrilles [$195].

KDH: Do you have a special offer for KDH readers with a shoe obsession?
BL: Sure! We just marked down the Chloe suede gladiator platform sandal from $750 to $399!

KDH: My friends and I love to wear sparkly flat sandals with long dresses to Hamptons events. You have a great Lola Cruz style in gold and silver[$325]. Is there a trend that is sooo over this summer?
BL: I would say that the sun has set on the “Jelly” moment- at least for now!

KDH: Which tinseltown tootsies like to shop at Shoe-Inn?
BL: Christie Brinkley, Gwyneth Paltrow and John Bon Jovi have all shopped with us. We launched a great new men’s section this summer that I think John will like.
