This week, I caught up with one of my favorite Hamptons blondes— artist Stephanie Hirsch [above], who splits time between Manhattan and Bridgehampton. To convey her message through contemporary art, Stephanie utilizes beads and embroidery to create canvases ‘illuminated’ with words of enlightenment and hope. An equal opportunity lover of all Hamptons seasons, Hirsch tells KDH, “I like to see the difference between the winter and the summer sky and ocean…..It is truly magical.”

Stephanie shares: My off season consisted of a lot of indoor time. I normally am an outdoorsy person but this winter, especially, I needed to be indoors a ton. I have been working and experimenting on a lot of new ideas, and this requires studio time and down time.

"Do you think my lips are too big?" jokes Hirsch in her studio.

Beading her recent "YOLO" canvas (see the finished product below).

Hanging with artist Nancy Drew. She uses rhinestones and diamond dust - we both clearly love sparkly art!

I loved the big snow storm because I finally got to take my kids sledding in Central Park which was absolutely gorgeous and tons of fun [below]! I took a quick trip down to Florida but it was cold so I am looking forward to the summer for warmth and sun.

In the Hamptons, the kids love to check out the snowy beach at the end of Ocean Road. The snow is so pristine and white..

When we come out on the off season our favorite place has been Chef Tom Colicchio’s Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton for cocktails or dinner— it is fab! We even rented out the barn with 30 friends for New Years Eve.

The Spice Roasted Lobster is one of our favorite dishes at Topping Rose.

In the winter, my husband Izzy [below] and I love to go to dinner parties out East. There is nothing better then going to a friends home and having an intimate cozy dinner party by the fire…

I make time to give back to causes I am passionate about. My amazing friends, Allison and Howard Lutnick, started the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund [below]. I have been volunteering my time for Sandy Hook victims [through the Cantor Relief Fund] which is always beyond rewarding.

I had a fab time being on the Erno Laszlo Host Committee for the opening of the Institute — with Alexandra Lebenthal, Stephanie Hirsch, Haley Lieberman Binn, Ann Caruso, Mark Mullett, Ramy Sharp, Darcy Miller Nussbaum and Jill Martin.

After this cold winter season, I am eagerly looking forward to my perfect summer days~ which start with an early morning stroll on the beach, then a Soul Cycle Class, followed by a Dreamy Iced Coffee at Sylvester and Co in Sag Harbor, and a drive to Montauk to go surfing with my boys….
