NEW KDHamptons Fashion Diary: Beth Otrosky Stern Shares Super Saturday Scoop!
On July 27th, Super Saturday, the world’s most famous designer garage sale, raised $3.5 million for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Kelly Ripa, Donna Karan, and InStyle magazine hosted the shop-a-thon at Nova’s Ark Project in Watermill. Celebrities, Hamptonistas, families, and fans shopped at booths busting with goodies from over 200 prominent designers. Kids enjoyed carnival rides, games, and crafts while adults indulged in mani-pedis, massages, gourmet treats and luxury raffles.
Lisa Chase, KDHamptons correspondent and founder of www.CelebrityEverything.com, caught up with Beth Ostrosky Stern on the grass carpet to chat about what she loves most about the event, the Hamptons, fashion, and the scoop on her new pet project with husband Howard Stern in her new NEW KDHamptons Fashion Diary below:
KDHamptons: Beth, how is your Hamptons summer going, and what’s the most exciting project you’re working on right now?
Beth Ostrosky-Stern: The most exciting thing we have been up to this summer is that we are fostering kittens for the North Shore Animal League. We’ve had two dozen [born] already; we have a mom and her three newborns in our house now. Thankfully, we have homes for everyone and we have a bunch of kittens that I will be delivering this week. It’s been exhausting……but fun!
KDHamptons: Do you have any new favorite restaurants in the Hamptons this summer?
Beth: Yes. BLT in Southampton is really great – [Howard and I] don’t eat meat, but they have great fish there. [located in the Capri Hotel, 281 County Road, 39A Route 27

KDHamptons: Fill us in on your shopping strategy, which designers will you be checking out first today?
Beth: Intermix, Scoop, Rachel Zoe, Ralph Lauren – I’m definitely hitting those first and will see what else is available.
KDHamptons: You are an avid supporter of Super Saturday and attend every year – why is this event important to you?
Beth: This is one of the greatest events every year here in the Hamptons, rain or shine. And luckily for us, it’s a beautiful day. I always get the most spectacular things and I know the money is going to an incredible organization so it’s a win-win for everyone.
KDHamptons: Last year the weather gods did not cooperate – we had a complete washout and torrential rain, but you soldiered through the storm?
Beth: Yes, I was here – my shoes got destroyed, but I got some bargains! I got stuff for my mom, nieces, and jewelry, a purse – I never leave empty-handed on Super Saturday.
